The Next Hive™ ‘Tuscan’ base is a hybrid base and brood box in one which presents a 12mm opening to the front for the bee’s access. It incorporates the 1.6mm galvanised steel inner frames of the box (super) as well as the 1.6mm thick standard base plate powder coated in ‘Classic Cream’. The assembly is very strong, and its design is charming and individual. The inclined front ‘veranda’ panel completes the appeal and offers shade over the front bee access platform.

Whilst marine ply has been selected for its outdoor suitability and durability, the finish of the ply parts is left to the beekeeper. We recommend a water-based paint or water-based clear finish for best results. Assembly is quick and easy with these simple to follow instructions.
